From the heart of La Horra in Spain’s Ribera del Duero, this biodynamic Reserva is made by the esteemed family-run Viña Sastre estate, renowned for old-vine Tempranillo and natural winemaking methods. Hand-harvested and rigorously sorted, it's fermented with native yeasts and macerated long on the skins, then aged 14 months in 70% new French and American oak—bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with minimal sulfur.
On the nose, expect a rich tapestry of dark berries and figs laced with subtle tobacco and vanilla. The palate is elegantly structured: deep fruit intensity meets fresh acidity and firm yet refined tannins, offering an impressively poised yet powerful experience.
Critic acclaim: Earning 92 points from Michael Franz, who praises its balanced oak and fruit interplay, savory undertones, and impressive early expression—with positive development still ahead.
A superb match for roasted or grilled meats and flavorful, tomato-based dishes—this Reserva delivers both depth and elegance, an accessible expression of Viña Sastre’s terroir-driven artistry.
