Tenuta di Trinoro is one of Tuscany's most singular and uncompromising estates, founded in the early 1990s by Andrea Franchetti in the remote Val d'Orcia - a landscape of wild, windswept beauty far from the established wine routes of Chianti and Montalcino. Franchetti, a visionary and iconoclast, planted Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and other Bordeaux varieties in soils that many considered unsuitable, driven by a conviction that this untamed corner of Tuscany could produce wines of world-class depth and character. His instincts proved correct: Trinoro quickly earned a devoted following among collectors and critics who recognized in its wines a rare combination of power, elegance, and terroir-driven complexity.

The 'Campo di Tenaglia' is Trinoro's second wine, but second only in the sense that it draws from younger vines and lots not selected for the flagship. The 2019 vintage is a Cabernet Franc-led blend from a warm, generous year in Tuscany, aged in French oak barriques to add structure while preserving the variety's signature aromatic lift. Deep ruby in the glass, the nose is expressive and layered with dark cherry, blackcurrant, and violet intertwined with graphite, dried herbs, and a hint of iron-rich earth. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and structured, with firm, fine-grained tannins, a concentrated mid-palate, and a long, savory finish with a distinctly Tuscan character.

The Tenuta di Trinoro Campo di Tenaglia 2019 is a natural match for bistecca alla Fiorentina, roasted lamb with rosemary, or aged Pecorino Toscano. You'll be drinking a Super Tuscan of genuine ambition and individuality.
