Obsidian Poseidon Vineyard Chardonnay 2023

Hailing from the storied Poseidon Vineyard in Carneros planted in 1973 at the confluence of Carneros Creek and the Napa River, Obsidian Chardonnay offers a compelling balance of terroir-driven cool-climate purity and nuanced oak texture. 

Hand-harvested and whole-cluster pressed, the wine was aged mainly in Hungarian oak barrels—with a touch of new oak for texture and large casks for balance—creating a Chardonnay that’s both vibrant and creamy.

Aromas of fresh citrus, pear, and lemon blossom mingle with soft notes of honey and vanilla, adding warmth and depth from delicate oak aging. The palate is driven by lively acidity and focused minerality, yet wraps around the senses with a creamy, textured mid-palate and a long, elegant finish. Obsidian’s 2023 Poseidon Vineyard Chardonnay showcases Carneros’s coastal terroir with bright fruit, refined texture, and exceptional balance from vine to glass.
