Musella is a biodynamic estate of rare beauty, set within a historic villa and nature reserve in the hills east of Verona — the heart of the Valpolicella Classico zone. The Pasqua Recchia family has farmed this land for generations with a deep respect for the ecosystem, and the estate's commitment to biodynamic viticulture is reflected in wines of exceptional purity and terroir expression. Musella produces the full range of Valpolicella's celebrated styles, from the fresh and approachable to the profound and age-worthy, always with the same philosophy: let the land speak.
The Musella Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore 2018 is crafted using the traditional ripasso method — refermented over the dried grape skins left from Amarone production, a technique that adds richness, depth, and complexity to the base Valpolicella wine without the full weight of an Amarone. A blend of Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella, the 2018 vintage delivered excellent ripeness and concentration across the Veneto. Deep ruby in the glass, the nose is rich and layered: ripe dark cherry, dried fig, and plum layered with chocolate, leather, and a hint of dried herbs. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and velvety, with soft tannins, good acidity, and a long, warming finish with notes of spice and dried fruit.
The Musella Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore 2018 is a natural partner for braised beef, osso buco, aged cheeses, or a hearty pasta with meat ragù — a classic Veronese red that bridges the gap between everyday drinking and special occasion elegance.
