Domaine Michel Sarrazin et Fils is a family estate in Jambles, in the southern reaches of the Côte de Beaune, farming vineyards across several appellations including Givry, Mercurey, and Maranges — the southernmost appellation of the Côte d'Or, whose wines remain among Burgundy's best-kept secrets. The Sarrazin family has been producing wine in this corner of Burgundy for generations, maintaining traditional practices and a deep respect for the land, and their wines consistently offer some of the finest value in the entire region — genuine Burgundian character at a fraction of the price of the more celebrated villages to the north.

The 2018 Michel Sarrazin Maranges is a 100% Pinot Noir from the Maranges appellation, whose granite and limestone soils produce wines of a distinctive earthy depth and rustic charm. The 2018 vintage in Burgundy was warm and generous, delivering wines of excellent ripeness and concentration. Bright ruby in the glass, the nose is classically Burgundian: ripe red cherry, raspberry, and dried violet layered with earthy notes of forest floor, leather, and a hint of spice. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and food-friendly, with firm but well-integrated tannins, lively acidity, and a long, savory finish with a distinctly earthy, mineral character.

The Michel Sarrazin Maranges 2018 is a quintessential Burgundian table wine — excellent alongside roasted chicken, duck confit, mushroom dishes, or a selection of French cheeses, and one of the region's most reliable and honest expressions of village-level Pinot Noir.
