Krupp Brothers is the estate winery of the Krupp family, owners of the legendary Stagecoach Vineyard on the eastern slopes of Napa Valley's Atlas Peak — one of the most celebrated and extensively planted mountain vineyard sites in all of California. At over 1,600 feet elevation, Stagecoach's volcanic, iron-rich soils and dramatic diurnal temperature swings produce Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux varieties of extraordinary concentration, structure, and complexity. The vineyard's fruit is sought after by many of Napa's most prestigious producers, but Krupp Brothers reserves the finest blocks for their own estate wines, of which 'The Water Witch' is one of the most distinctive and expressive.

The 2021 Krupp Brothers Stagecoach Vineyard 'The Water Witch' Red Blend is a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot from the estate's most expressive mountain blocks, aged in French oak to add structure and complexity while preserving the wine's natural freshness and mineral character. Deep ruby-purple in the glass, the nose is intense and layered: blackcurrant, dark plum, and black cherry intertwined with graphite, cedar, dark chocolate, and a distinctive volcanic mineral note that is the signature of great Stagecoach fruit. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and commanding, with firm, concentrated tannins, vibrant acidity, and a finish of extraordinary length and complexity.
