Founded in 1972 by Tom and Sally Jordan in Sonoma's Alexander Valley, Jordan Winery was built on a singular vision: to craft a California Cabernet Sauvignon in the spirit of the great châteaux of Bordeaux. The estate spans over 1,200 acres in the rolling hills of Alexander Valley, with 109 acres under vine, and from the beginning Jordan set itself apart by prioritizing elegance and balance over sheer power — a philosophy that has made it one of California's most beloved and consistently excellent producers. The winery's French-inspired château, completed in 1976, remains a landmark of Sonoma wine country.
The 2019 Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic Alexander Valley red — warm, generous, and beautifully structured. A blend led by Cabernet Sauvignon with small additions of Merlot and other Bordeaux varieties, the wine was aged in French oak to preserve its fruit-forward character while adding complexity and texture. The 2019 growing season in Sonoma was long and even, producing wines of exceptional balance and depth. Deep ruby with a garnet rim, the nose offers ripe blackcurrant, dark cherry, and plum layered with cedar, vanilla, dried herbs, and a hint of dark chocolate. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied yet refined, with polished tannins and a long, smooth finish with a touch of spice.
A natural partner for prime rib, grilled ribeye, or rack of lamb, the Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is equally excellent alongside braised short ribs, mushroom risotto, or a board of aged cheddar and hard cheeses — a Sonoma Cabernet that delivers Napa-level ambition with a lighter touch.
