Gianni Gagliardo is a respected family estate in La Morra — one of the most celebrated communes of the Barolo zone in Piedmont, whose limestone and clay soils produce wines of exceptional elegance and aromatic complexity. While the estate is best known for its Barolo, its Dolcetto d'Alba demonstrates the same commitment to quality and terroir expression that defines the entire range. Dolcetto — literally 'little sweet one' — is Piedmont's most widely planted everyday red variety, producing wines of a deep color, soft tannins, and a characteristic bitter almond finish that makes them uniquely food-friendly and endlessly drinkable.

The 2020 Gianni Gagliardo Dolcetto d'Alba Paulin is sourced from the Paulin vineyard in La Morra, whose well-exposed slopes and clay-rich soils produce Dolcetto of exceptional depth and character. Deep ruby-purple in the glass, the nose is fresh and inviting: ripe dark cherry, blackberry, and violet with a hint of dried herbs and a characteristic bitter almond note. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with soft, approachable tannins, lively acidity, and a clean, dry finish with the pleasantly bitter almond note that is the hallmark of great Dolcetto d'Alba.

The Gianni Gagliardo Dolcetto d'Alba Paulin 2020 is a quintessential Piedmontese table wine — exceptional alongside antipasto, pasta with meat sauce, grilled sausages, or a selection of local cheeses, and one of the most food-friendly and reliably enjoyable reds in the Italian canon.
