Frias Family Vineyard ‘Lady of the Dead’ Red 2020

Blend: 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Syrah, 7% Tempranillo, 1% Graciano

The 2020 Lady of the Dead Red Blend opens with rich, dark fruit flavors of blackberries and black cherries, layered with candied fruit, vanilla, cedar, clove, and earthy hints of leather. The entry is soft, featuring spiced dried fruits, balanced acidity, and tannins that complement the medium-bodied texture. The concentrated fruit, accented by plum, deepens on the palate, finishing with a touch of spice and toasted oak.

In 1977, Manny Frias Sr. purchased 100 acres at the base of Napa Valley’s Spring Mountain District, planting five acres of vines by 1985 and establishing FRIAS Family Vineyard. The first vintage came in 1991, and today, the vineyard has grown to over 13 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon. FRIAS also sources from single vineyards in Oakville and Yountville through long-standing partnerships. Now led by second-generation brothers Fernando and Manny Frias Jr., with winemaker Todd Heth since 2004, the winery continues to craft powerful, artisanal wines with a focus on quality.
