Discover a side of Chilean wine that goes far beyond the familiar.

Join us at The Vine Post on Tuesday, September 15th at 6pm for a guided tasting through some of Chile’s most distinctive wine regions, exploring how the country’s extraordinary geography, historic vineyards, and heritage grape varieties have shaped its modern wine identity.

Our journey begins along the cool Pacific-influenced Leyda Valley with Haras de Pirque’s Albaclara Sauvignon Blanc before heading south to Itata, where renowned terroir specialist Pedro Parra works with País, one of Chile’s oldest and most historically significant grape varieties. From there, we’ll travel to Apalta for Primus Carménère and explore the fascinating story of a Bordeaux variety that has become synonymous with Chile.

We’ll finish with two of the evening’s most exciting wines. EPU 2020, the second wine of the celebrated Almaviva estate, showcases the exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon terroir of Puente Alto, while Neyen Espíritu de Apalta 2018 brings us back to the Colchagua Valley for a powerful expression from historic old vines in Apalta.

The Wines

• Haras de Pirque Albaclara Sauvignon Blanc, Leyda Valley 2024
• Pedro Parra Vinista País, Itata Valley 2023
• Primus Carménère, Apalta 2023
• Viña Almaviva EPU, Puente Alto 2022
• Neyen Espíritu de Apalta, Colchagua Valley 2018

Throughout the tasting, we’ll discuss the producers, regions, grape varieties, and terroirs behind each wine, offering a deeper look at why Chile has become one of the most exciting and diverse wine-producing countries in the world.
