Pinot-Chevauchet is a small grower Champagne estate based in the Premier Cru villages of Moussy and Pierry, just outside Épernay, where the family farms a patchwork of small parcels rooted in clay, chalk, and limestone. Now led by Didier Chevauchet, the domaine focuses on sustainable viticulture and low-intervention winemaking, producing just 30,000 bottles annually: each cuvée shaped by site rather than scale.
“Joyeuse” leans into the character of the region, built on a Meunier-dominant blend (80% Pinot Meunier, 20% Chardonnay) drawn from both base and reserve wines. Fermented in stainless steel and aged five years on the lees, it balances precision with depth. It's more about texture and quiet complexity than overt richness.
In the glass, it’s vibrant yet composed: fine bubbles carry notes of orchard fruit, citrus, and light pastry, with subtle honeyed depth and a mineral edge that reflects its hillside origins. The finish is clean, lifted, and quietly persistent. It is less opulent than house Champagne, but far more expressive of place.
A true grower Champagne that overdelivers. Structured, nuanced, and built for both aperitif and table.
