The 2019 vintage is highly regarded in the region, producing wines that beautifully balance harmony and terroir expression. The 2019 Barolo boasts an enticing aroma of blood orange and baking spices. On the palate, it presents silky, tart red fruits complemented by firm yet ripe tannins, culminating in a persistent finish. This wine is characterized by its ethereal nature, featuring vibrant aromas, pure and bright red fruit flavors accentuated by lively acidity, moderate tannins, and a lingering aftertaste.

Castello di Perno was founded in 2012 by Milanese lawyer Gregorio Gitti. It is an emerging estate in Piedmont poised for significant recognition. With 14 hectares of organically farmed vineyards across Monforte d'Alba, Nizza, and Alta Langa, the estate produces wines crafted by renowned consultant Gian Luca Colombo. The namesake castle, located atop the village of Perno, houses Gitti's impressive contemporary art collection. As the first US agency to represent Colombo's work at Castello di Perno, starting with the 2017 vintage, this estate is set to make waves in the wine world.

Castello di Perno's premier offerings are its Barolo and Barolo Castelletto, both sourced from the Castelletto cru in Monforte d'Alba, where the winery is situated. The standard Barolo uses grapes from the lower elevations, while the Castelletto is crafted from fruit grown higher up the slope.
