Created by Thibault Lepoutre, this blend of 70% Malbec and 30% Cot showcases the unique character of Chacayes in the Uco Valley. It’s bottled without added sulfites or aging, displaying a deep purple hue with notes of dark cherry, plum, black raspberry, cranberry, spice, wildflowers, and forest herbs. Bursting with energy and layered flavors, it has smooth tannins and a crisp, invigorating finish.
After an extensive search, François Lurton established his vineyards in Argentina’s Uco Valley, specifically in Los Chacayes, an area reminiscent of Pessac-Léognan with its poor, gravelly soils. In this high-altitude, semi-desert land at the foot of the Andes, Lurton’s Piedra Negra Winery has embraced environmentally friendly practices, producing wines that capture the region’s signature blend of freshness and concentration. Today, the Uco Valley is a celebrated Argentine wine region, attracting visitors who come to explore the unique terroir, touring vineyards on horseback and admiring the natural landscape.
