This white wine is deliciously dry and invigorating, with herbal and mineral undertones. The nose reveals an enticing bouquet of fresh herbs, sweet pepper, guava, lively lemon, and hints of gravel and quartz. The palate is vibrant with flavors of luscious tangerine, ripe melon, exotic lychee, and fragrant lemon zest. Grown in rocky soils, the grapes are dry-farmed, fermented in stainless steel, and aged on fine lees for three months, resulting in one of the Southern Hemisphere's standout expressions of Sauvignon Blanc.
The estate, one of South Africa's finest wine farms, is located on the east-facing slopes of Constantia Mountain, a cool coastal region celebrated for its elegant, mineral-driven whites. With a history dating back to 1773, the property underwent significant renovations and replanting in 1982. Today, it is managed by Lars Maack and the Mueller family, with winemaking led by Hermann Kirschbaum, a talented artisan known for his exceptional white wines.
