This wine has a brilliant ruby hue and an aromatic bouquet of dark berries, herbs, licorice, and spices. Vibrant and concentrated with flavors of bitter cherry, blueberry, and dark chocolate, enhanced by bright acidity and a hint of white pepper. The blue fruit notes carry through to a long, tangy finish, supported by fine, dusty tannins.
Established in 1879, Vinos Guerra is Spain's oldest and most historic winery in Bierzo. Don Antonio Guerra, the founder, was an early innovator - one of the first in Spain to bottle wines using the méthode champenoise. Additionally, a variety of spirits were crafted by him, including Agua Ardiente, Vermouth, and Anisettes. Currently, one-third of all vineyards in Bierzo are managed by the winery with meticulous selection of the top 10% of grapes to guarantee exceptional quality. Using some of the oldest Mencía and Doña Blanca vines in the region, Vinos Guerra creates deep and characterful wines.
