From the sun-drenched hills of the Alexander Valley in Sonoma County, the 2023 vintage of Architect Cabernet Sauvignon reveals itself as a masterful expression of Cabernet Sauvignon. Produced by Architect (under the umbrella of Broadbent Selections), this wine pays tribute to legendary Master of Wine, Michael Broadbent, whose background in architecture infuses every bottle with structure, balance and elegance.
The 2023 will is a Cabernet-driven blend (approx. 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, with supporting varieties such as Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Malbec) sourced from vines aged 10-15 years from two vineyard sites in Alexander Valley.
On the nose, you’ll be greeted with intense aromas of black cherry, cassis, ripe plum, hints of nutmeg and bay leaf. The palate follows through with lush dark-berry fruit, undertones of vanilla, cocoa, spice and smooth integrated oak, finishing long and silky with refined tannins and lively acidity.
Ideal for pairing with grilled lamb chops, a sirloin steak or a mushroom-risotto, this wine offers both immediate appeal and potential to age gracefully. With an alcohol of about 14.5%, it strikes that sweet spot of fullness and drinkability.
Whether you’re shopping for a rich, elegant Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon to savor now or cellar for a few years, the Architect 2023 is an exceptional red wine that delivers craftsmanship, depth and value.
