Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is known for its refined structure and subtle minerality, and the Commuter Cuvée by John Grochau is a perfect expression of this. Grochau's passion for wine began in his early 20s while racing bicycles with a French team in the Loire Valley, and this journey inspired the bike-themed label of his Commuter Cuvée. Each year, Grochau hand-harvests the grapes, allowing for a slow, natural fermentation process. The Commuter Cuvée, made from a blend of grapes from various Willamette Valley vineyards, is the first Pinot Noir released annually. The aroma offers notes of cherry compote, ripe black cherry, and hints of lavender and violet. On the palate, it’s vibrant and refreshing, featuring tart cherry, cola, warm spices, and earthy undertones. The finish is long and satisfying, balanced by lively acidity.
