Catherine et Pierre Breton are among the Loire Valley’s most beloved and influential natural wine producers, pioneers who have been farming biodynamically in Bourgueil since the 1980s, long before natural wine became fashionable. Les Perrières is one of the Bretons’ most celebrated single vineyard Bourgueil bottlings, sourced from a lieu dit whose name, The Stony Place, speaks to the flinty mineral character that defines wines from this site. Bright ruby in the glass, the nose is fragrant and complex, revealing fresh red cherry, raspberry, and violet layered with pencil shavings, dried herbs, and the distinctive flinty minerality that is the hallmark of this vineyard.
